Certamen

One of the main pursuits of MDJCL students: win at Certamen! This is a Jeopardy-like game with questions from Roman history and culture, Latin vocabulary and grammar, Greek/Roman mythology, English derivatives, and general Latin comprehension. Students compete on teams of 1-4 against other schools at either Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced Level.

Sometimes we even attend Virginia certamina...though they're a bit intimidating sometimes.

Museum Trips

In 2016, we took our first museum trip as a state organization and plan to make it an annual event.
